Located in the heart of Europe, this country is an attractive country to visit. Vienna alone has been ranked as the most liveable city in the world for many years!

A country with rich history, beautiful landscapes, incredible structure, amazing food, and amazing culture, Austria needs to be on one of your top places to visit in Europe.

This beautiful country has been a home to many talents with the likes of Mozart, Strauss, and Klimt just to name a few. Vienna was a hot spot for art, music, and culture in most of the 19th century. This legacy still lives on as you walk around the city.

VISA/ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Prior to entry ensure that your passport is valid for at least 3 months after your departure date from Austria. Most passport holders are able to obtain a 90 day tourist visit at a no cost. You could double check the Austrian visa application site for more information if you're unsure.

Overstaying penalties can be in a form of a fine, an immediate deportation back to your country, or a ban from travelling in the Schengen Zone.

CURRENCY

Euro is the currency in Austria. ATM's are available everywhere. Debit and credit cards are accepted everywhere as well.

TRANSPORTATION

Local Buses/Trams - Trams are very common to get around within the city. It's easy to use and very affodable.

Bicycles - Probably the best way to get around a city, if everything is within cycling distance. Cities like Vienna have designated bike lanes making this means of transportation more practical.

Train - Travelling by train from one city to another is by far the most efficient travel option in the country providing the most scenic route.

Bus - Travelling by bus is another option to consider from one city to another. You can book your tickets through booking platforms such as CheckMyBus, getbybus or FlixBus.

THINGS TO DO

Schönbrunn Palace, Belvedere Palace and Hofburg Palace (Vienna) - Your visit to Vienna is not complete without visiting these baroque structured sites.

Hallstat - Probably the most picturesque place in Austria.

St. Stephen's Cathedral (Vienna) - One of the most iconic buildings in Vienna.

Dachstein Caves, Giant Ice Cave, and Mammoth Cave (Hallstat) - Explore these impressive caves.

Kitzbühel and Kitzbüheler Horn - Depending on the time of the year, you need to grab your skis and go skiiing here!

Austrian Parliament Building (Vienna) - Visit this photogenic building.

Krimmler Ache - Check out the tallest waterfall in Austria at 380m.

Coffe Shops (Vienna) - Visit one of the many hipster cafés and get your caffeine on.

Ringstrasse (Vienna) - Another must see and a historical part of the city.

Hundertwasser House (Vienna) - An beautiful odd looking structure worth visiting.

Danube River (Vienna) - A good place to relax and take a dip during the summer.

It's located right at the centre of Europe making it a great hub to go to other neighbouring countries around it. Not to mention it's a country filled with beautiful sceneries and plenty of amazing sites that shouldn't be missed.
